We're partnering with a well-established builders' merchant in the South to appoint a strategically minded Key Account Manager to lead and professionalise their main contractor channel. This is a senior commercial role for a Key Account Manager who wants real ownership, influence, and the chance to shape how a business wins and delivers main contractor work.

The role
- Take full ownership of the main contractor channel, acting as the single senior commercial interface across all main contractor accounts
- Manage main contractor relationships on a project-by-project basis, maintaining control of pipeline, pricing discipline, margin protection, and commercial risk
- Design and implement a structured, scalable model for main contractor business, aligning branches, pricing, logistics, suppliers, and service delivery
The ideal candidate
- An experienced Key Account Manager (or equivalent) with a proven track record of selling into main contractor environments
- Strong understanding of how main contractors buy, including QS-led procurement, frameworks, project pricing, and commercial negotiations
- A commercially confident Key Account Manager with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
